The Thomas Nelson Chapter, NSDAR, stays active in its community in Northern Virginia through philanthropic activities that promote education and preservation.
Monthly Chapter Meetings
Chapter meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month between September to May.
A social begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7:00 p.m. We hope to see you at these upcoming meetings:

June 29-July 3, 2022: 131st DAR Continental Congress held at DAR Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Learn more

June 30 Virginia Luncheon: Meet at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.

July 22-23, 2022 Virginia Summer Summit: Make plans to attend at the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, Virginia, for the first meeting of the State Board of Management for the next administration.

March 17-19, 2023 127th Virginia State DAR Conference: Save the date to join us at the Richmond Marriott in Richmond, Virginia.

Thomas Nelson Chapter at Virginia Fall Summit

Thomas Nelson Chapter Alexandria Old Town Tour
Members of the Thomas Nelson Chapter, NSDAR, visited three historical locations in Old Town Alexandria to celebrate local history. Thomas Nelson Daughters explored the Alexandria History Museum at the Lyceum with a special photography exhibition of the faith community in Alexandria over the years. After touring the Carlyle House and the Gadsby's Tavern Museum, the group attended an outdoor cocktail hour to discuss what we learned. (Photo to the right.)
DAR Virginia State Conference
The Thomas Nelson Chapter, NSDAR Vice Regent safely attended the 125th Virginia State Conference in Virginia in Mid March while our Chapter Historian attended virtually. President General Denise Doring VanBuren attended the conference, which held the theme of "Women in History." DAR Day of Service
In September, members of the Thomas Nelson Chapter, NSDAR, met at the Columbia Gardens Cemetery to clean the headstone of Anne M. Brewer and Margaret A. Brewer. Members worked together to show their respect by scrubbing away the moss that was partially covering the intricate details of each stone. Get involved in your local community by joining the DAR!

As a member of DAR, you can continue the legacy by preserving American history, promoting education, supporting our communities and engaging in patriotic endeavors.

Any woman at least eighteen years of age who can prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible for membership.
